How to choose air filters for a data center?
Datacenter industry is booming, with the rise of the search engine Google, Alibaba and social media such as YouTube, etc, data center maintenance, as well as pollution, must be paid more attention day by day.
Pollutants not only cause harm to equipment and personnel health, but also unclean air can adversely affect the operation of computer equipment and pollute precision air conditioners and air filters directly.
The data center administrator is responsible for maintaining hardware reliability by monitoring the environments in the data center, how to keep data-center clean? In general, the data center need to meet ISO 14644-18 standard, by using the appropriate air filtration schemes listed below, this level of cleaning can be achieved.
1. Per “Particulate and Gaseous Contamination in Datacom Environments”, MERV 11 or MERV13 air filter are recommended(F7 is equivalent to MERV13) to remove as much harmful particles and gaseous contaminants in the air before it is sent to the data center.
2. The source of dust inside the data center also should be reduced. The indoor air can be continuously filtered using the MERV8 filter as recommended in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 127-2007 “Method of Testing for Rating Computer and Data Processing Room Unitary Air Conditioners”.
3. for NOx, SOx harmful gaseous pollutants, and H2S gas, activated carbon filters are recommended.
As an air filter manufacturer, we make a lot of air filters for many famous brand precision air conditioner manufacturers, such as Emerson and Liebert, if you are looking for air filters for a data center, we are your best choice.
